A warm, well-balanced character with a golden butterscotch hue. The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old is a well-balanced single malt whisky that was produced by perfectly balancing the flavours of two wood barrels. The faint spice of European wood is enhanced by the delicate vanilla that sherry-seasoned American oak brings, giving the whisky a sweeter, warmer flavour and character.

ERIK MADIGAN HECK DOUBLE CASK

European and American oak, sherry seasoned in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, exquisitely balance each expression in our Double Cask Collection, creating a rich sensory experience.

Using a royal colour scheme, photographer Erik Madigan Heck has created a visual representation of Double Cask 15 Years Old that evokes the rich luxury of creamy butterscotch and spicy sweetness.

The apple is the focal point of this picture, which is reminiscent of the classic Flemish still life paintings from the 17th century and is a taste hallmark of The Macallan portfolio.

Nose: Dry ginger and orange peel take the lead. There’s a bit of vanilla, dried apricots and yellow peaches. As it develops, there’s a nice bit of toffee that evolves into cinnamon and nutmeg.

Palate: Sweet orange marmalade and candied orange peel to start. A juicy bite of golden apples follows. The middle is a bite into a butter croissant, topped with honey and vanilla. Then comes raisins, toffee and cooked ginger.

Finish: Medium-Long. Woody and spicy. Cinnamon and a very light astringency reminiscent of black tea towards the end.
